ABSTRACT
The introduction of innovations of biological agents in Ngranti village, Boyolangu sub-district,
Tulungagung Regency using media demonstration plot and FFD (farmer field day).
Demonstration plots providing information through cultivation practices about biological
agents innovation that are applied on corn and FFD are used to provide information material
about biological agents. This study included a survey research which is research that takes a
sample of the population and using questionnaires as the principal means of data collection.
The analysis unit is the individual. The samples were taken by purposive sampling, with a total
sample of 40 farmers. Farmers perceptions about innovation characteristics of biological agents
was analyzed using quantitative tools through the scoring with a likert scale. While the farmer's
perception of the media demonstration plots with descriptive analysis. The results showed that
the perception of farmers about biological agent innovation has a high level of perception with
a score of 43.69 or 81.66%, which shows that farmers consider the use of biological agents can
reduce costs because of decreased use of fertilizers and pesticides. But farmers are still hesitant
to apply innovation biological agents because farmers do not quite understand the techniques
of cultivation of maize using biological agents in demplots, there is no difference in yield of corn
between cultivation of maize using biological agents and the conventional cultivation of maize,
and there are no difference in the physical appearance of plants corn such as plant height, total
leaf number, and the circumference of rod.
