COMPETITIVENESS ANALYSIS OF RED ONION IN KEDIRI REGENCY

ABSTRACT
The aim of this research is to analyze the level of competitiveness of local commodities
red onion for onions imported. This research uses analysis of price parity analysis and
sensitivity analysis. This research use purposive sampling to determine respondents, ie
commodity marketing agencies red onion imports in Kediri, among others, wholesalers and
importers red onion imports. The result of this research is the analysis of price parity of local
red onion commodities uncompetitive against imported red onion commodities. This is proven
by the results of the calculation which price parity analysis shows that the local red onion
prices (Rp.7418.75/ kg) is higher than the price of red onion imports (Rp. 3309.98/kg) so we
will get the value of the price parity of 0,446. While the result of the sensitivity analysis shows
that the local red onion commodity price are competitive when event of any change (increase)
in price of imported red onion commodities and policy import tax of 250%, a change of 200%
on the change in the rupiah against the dollar, while the change in the cost of the
transportation did not give effect to the competitiveness of local red onion.
