ANALYSIS OF TECHNICAL EFFICIENCY OF PRODUCTION FACTORS USAGE IN TOBACCO FARMING (CASE STUDY IN POLAGAN VILLAGE GALIS SUB-DISTRICT PAMEKASAN REGENCY)

ABSTRACT
Polagan village is one village in Galis Subdistrict. In Polagan village tobacco is important
plant, but tobacco productivity in this village under other village in Galis Subdistrict. This
research to know as far level of technical efficiency tobacco farming influential to level
production there farming. Goal of this research is increase production of tobacco farming.
Research objective in this research are: (1) to analysis the factors which influence the
production level of tobacco farming, (2) to analysis the technical efficiency of tobacco farming,
and (3) analysis the factors influence technical efficiency in tobacco farming. Methods of data
analysis using stochastic frontier production function. Data analysis method using Stochastic
Frontier production function analysis. The results showed that, the factors of production that
significantly affect the production of tobacco farming are land area, organic fertilizer and
chemical fertilizer. The technical efficiency level achieved by tobacco farmers in Polagan
Village has an average of 0.78. Factors that significantly affect the technical efficiency is the
use of age and experience of farming. To increase tobacco production, can be through
intensification, that is by adding input production such as the use of organic fertilizers and
chemical fertilizers.
