ABSTRACT
The research entitled " Students’ Criticism Towards Social Problems in the Student
Movement", aims to find out how the students express their criticism attitude against
existing social problems that is implemented in the student movement, with the hope that
the concept of guiding students can be established. Based on the analysis of previous
theories and research, the research method formulates that the criticism attitude of student
is measured from their behavior in family, community, and on campus, and from their
intellectuality. Social issues are measured from the welfare and security aspects. The student
movmnt is measured from the solidarity action, peaceful protest and demonstration. With
the niversity of Indonesia and the University Trisaksi students as the respondents, the
research comes to conclude that: the criticism attitude of students towards social problems is
slightly improper since the students tend to care about their personal interests. Students are
more concerned with social issues other than security issues. Students prefer solidarity
actions carried out on campus than peaceful demonstrations and actions on the roads.
Criticism attitude of students towards social problems in the student movement is low. The
higher the criticism attitude of students and social problems, the higher the student
movement.
