ANALISIS KESALAHAN PEMAKAIAN BAHASA INDONESIA DALAM KARANGAN MAHASISWA PENUTUR BAHASA ASING DI UNIVERSITAS SEBELAS MARET

Abstract: The purpose of this research are : (1) to describes the error of Indonesian language
in the writings by foreign students of Sebelas Maret University; (2) the most errors, and (3)
causes of error. This research is aqualitativedescriptive research with a sample foreign
student text Sebelas Maret University. The samplingtechniqueused waspurposivesampling.
Data collection techniquesused werein-depthinterviewsanddocument analysis. Data analysis
techniqueused is theinteractiveanalytical modelthat includesfourcomponents, namelydata
collection, data reduction, data presentation, andverification. The conclusionsof this studyare
as follows. Firstly, thelinguisticelements oflanguageerrorsthat oftenoccurinthe student text
isdividedinto fourerrors : spellingerror, morphology, semantic, andsyntac. Secondly, the most
error in the text of foreign students is the spelling errors. Thirdly, languageerrorsthat often
occurin a foreign student text causedbyinternalfactors: (a) low motivation, (b)
potential/languageaptitude, (c) language characteristic, and external factors: (a) imperfect
learning, (b) a short language learning period.
